Climbing the Hill: Perspectives on Career Development Opportunities for Public Policy Professionals
On Thursday, May 9, we hosted our inaugural event on the rooftop of our office building at 700 Pennsylvania Ave SE to celebrate the hardworking and often under-recognized staff who keep Congress running — and was widely attended by staffers, think-tankers, and other public policy professionals dedicated to seeing a more effective and efficient Congress.
Dome surveyed our 148 public policy event attendees, 33% of whom were congressional staffers, with a fairly even split between both parties, both chambers of Congress, and spread across different levels of seniority.
Our goal? To learn about the networking and mentoring experiences of our event attendees.
First, we wanted to know whether our networking event effectively served attendees. We then asked about the current demand for mentorship on the Hill; if this demand is being met; and if not, what can do to solve this issue.
We received 62 responses including feedback from both personal and committee staff. Attendees were surveyed on key aspects relating to the event, knowledge of our company, and mentoring opportunities on the Hill.
Feedback from Congressional staffers and public policy professional drives our product development priorities. We apply that same mindset to our networking and educational events. We want to learn from you!
